The ABC’s of Love: E is for

Ok, I’ll admit E is one of those letters that you can think of all kinds of great adjectives for, but the nouns are few and far between.  This letter was less than easy to find words for, hopefully you will have an idea for one of them.

E– Envelop Date, Embrace, Eternity, Eager, Earnest, Earn, Easy, East, Eat,  Eight, Elated, Enchant, Evening, Ever, Excellent, Excite, Exclusive, Exhilarating

Ideas & Suggestions:
Envelop Date-  Ok, the envelop date was featured in D, so I’m not going to re-cap that.  If you’re curious, click HERE for D.

Embrace-  Simply take time to enjoy an embrace from the one you love.  I know, personally, that’s one of my favorite places and it all ends far too quickly each time we get to hold each other and just enjoy being close.

Eternity-  This one is geared more toward the LDS in the crowd, take in a temple session.  If you aren’t LDS, a love letter is always a good gesture.  Or a new ring.  You know, the circular shape of the ring goes on for eternity.

Easy-  This is one of my favorites.  Make it a simple, easy night.  Easy dinner, easy, clean-up, easy on the company.  That way you have time to relax and enjoy each other.  Have a game night or watch a movie (catch up on TiVo or the DVR list).  This is something you could do with the kiddos even.

Eight-  Similar to the “dozen” idea for D.  Create a little gift basket with things in sets of eight.  Or one gift basket with eight things in it.  Or eight different gift baskets.  I’m kinda doing something like this for our anniversary tomorrow.  Only it won’t be just eight.  However, this isn’t the post for those details.

Evening-  Devote the whole evening to your sweetie (or family).  Make dinner easy (see, there’s two E’s!  And I’m talking like Mac & Cheese or delivery pizza easy).  Spend the night enjoying the company of your favorite person (or people).  Time is often the greatest gift we have to give.  No cell phones, no computers, no other distractions.  Or arrange to go out for the evening.

PG-13 Rated Idea:
Exclusive-  Your sweetie could use a little TLC, I’m sure.  Why don’t you take a couple hours and slip into something (or somethings) a little revealing, pull out the lotions and give them a luxurious massage… followed by… well, you know.  There’s an exclusive club that will make any sweetheart a happy camper.

Just a Quick Announcement

I just wanted to point your attention to the new spot on the sidebar.  It’s the Advertising tab.  Also, there is a new link in my header, also labeled Advertising.  I am now accepting sponsorships and advertising.  If you are interested, please see the guidelines HERE.

The main reason I bring your attention to this is for my weekly link party I host, Weekend Wander.  I love hosting the party and getting to see your projects.  Most of which, honestly, I wouldn’t see any other way.  I don’t often have enough time in my day to sit and surf through blogs and the party is the perfect way to get pointed to all your cool ideas and projects.  You’ve probably heard that it is no longer free to host these parties.  I asked at Weekend Wander this week if you guys preferred the thumbnail links, or if text links were good enough.  Thumbnails were, by far, the majority favorite.  I also like the thumbnails.  Subscriptions for the service I am looking at are $20/year.  At this point, I can’t afford the $20 upfront.  Sad, I know; alas, it’s true.

If you link to the party every week, please consider purchasing some advertising space.  I’m having a discount on it right now to try and help you all out as well.  All money will go toward the subscription for the link party, until it is covered.  I will also use any proceeds from my Etsy shop to help make up the difference.  So, head over and check that out as well, if you’d like to help.  If I don’t have enough to purchase the subscription by this weekend we will be stuck with text links until I do.  This really is something I would like to keep up, but I’m going to need your help to do so.  Thanks.

The ABC’s of Love: D is for

Suggestions for D:

Dinner, Date, Dedication, Desire, Dream, Drinks, Dance, Dark, Daylight, Dazzling, Dessert, Detective, Devotion, Doctor, Dollar, Double Dose, Dozen, Drive

Ideas include:
Dinner-  Cook something for him or together.  Make it something you haven’t tried before or stick to a tried-and -true favorite.  Your choice.  Go all out.  This is a special dinner.

Date-  Go on a special date.  Not a dinner-and-a-movie date.  You cant talk in a movie theater!  Want some spontaneity?  Hurry and order yourself a “Pick the Envelop” Date kit and you won’t even have much to plan!  It’s a date designed for all day, but is super simple to rearrange to fit your personal needs and time frames.  If you would like a digital kit instead (priced at $10) please let me know.  I’ll get you all set up.

Dedication-  Call into a radio station and dedicate a song to your sweetheart.  Make sure they are listening!  Or do your dedication a little less publicly.  A love letter is always a winner.

Drinks-  Put the kids to bed and relax in the cozy chairs!  You know the ones everyone is fighting for all day long.  At least that’s what happens at my house.  Enjoy your favorite beverages and take the time to talk and get caught up in each other’s lives.  You’d be surprised how different and separated the lives of husbands and wives can be.  Or actually go out for drinks.  Whether it’s something served in stemware on a table cloth or slushies at Sonic, it doesn’t matter.

Dance-  Pretty self explanatory.  Right?  Put on some music and dance.  In the kitchen, the living room, the dance club, on the wii.  Whatever.  It’ll be fun and you’ll get some exercise.  Don’t worry how goofy you look.  “Those who mind don’t matter, and those who matter don’t mind!” -Dr Suess

Detective-  Come up with a fun treasure hunt to go with your sweetie.  It can be as elaborate or as simple as you care to plan.  For some extra fun, make it a ransom situation.  Hold something for ransom and you have to complete the treasure hunt to get it back.  This could even be you.  Leave clues around and be waiting for your sweetie somewhere.

Doctor-  Play Doctor.  ‘Nough said.

Dollar:  Go to the Dollar Store.  You each get one dollar.  Who can get the best gift for the other?

Dozen:  Roses, cookies, brownies, chocolates, kisses, coupons, dollars, a 12 pack of his fave soda, anything you can get 12 of!  Twelve petals with 12 reasons you love him.  Whatever you can think of.

Drive:  Take a drive.  Somewhere, anywhere.  Just get in the car and go.  Usually you can drive 1/2 hour and be somewhere different enough that you feel like you’ve gone much further away.  Maybe not so much in LA or some of the bigger cities.  If that’s the case, go somewhere you enjoy.  Don’t have a special spot in your city?  FIND ONE!  Seriously, best thing My Mr Right and I have ever done.  It’s incredibly useful.  (Need a special, quick and easy date?  Dinner at “your spot” is always a good idea.)

Double Dose:  Sets of two would be a nice surprise.  His fave dinner and dessert!  A back rub and a foot rub!  Before bed and in the morning!

Weekend Wander #16

So, as I was getting ready to post this party I signed in to create the linky script and, lo and behold, I was informed that the linky service I was using is becoming a paid service.  While I love blogging, I don’t do it for money… I also don’t do it to pay anyone else money.  I can understand the reasoning for them going to a paid service, but I can’t afford to pay for it.  So, here is my question for all of you…

If the linky is a text-only linky, would you still come join me?

I love seeing all the awesome links each week.  I haven’t been good about doing features lately, but I do look at every single link, every week.  So… what do you think?  Stop Weekend Wander or text-only linky parties?

Kid’s Valentine Coupons

Here’s another one for those of you who want something for Valentine’s for the kiddos.  When I was growing up, Valentine’s Day was a day to tell the ones you love that, well, you love them.  My mom always gave us a small gift and a valentine card just to say “I love you”.  In fact, Valentine’s Day didn’t become about romantic love until after I was married, simply because I never had a significant other before then, not one worth a Valentine anyway.

I’ve made several “Love Coupons” over the last few years.  Pretty much all of them with my husband as the intended recipient.  However, now that Little Monkey is getting older, I’m starting to thing of projects for him too.  These are still a bit out of his age limit, but I’m sure there are some of you out there that could benefit from them.

Coupons without a watermark will only be available in my Etsy Shoppe for $4.  That’s a quarter a coupon, people.  And the files are reusable.  Not too shabby, right?

I'm Krista. Ringleader here on While He Was Napping, wife to my handsome Mr. Right & momma to my THREE energetic boys, Big J (9), Little J (6) & Little N (4). We FINALLY added a beautiful little girl to our family last December.

I’m knee-deep in Tonka trucks & Thomas trains. I survive our crazy days with Vanilla Coke, Sonic slushies, sweet snuggles and little giggles. When I tuck them in tight & kiss them good night, I get a little time to create & just be me.
