I don’t often post things that have a focus on my religion. It is a big part of who I am, but I don’t want anyone to feel like I’m shoving anything in your face. With that being said, this post has a mild LDS theme, due to the fact I used The Family: A Proclamation to the World for this project. This project could also be completed with quotes on families, mothers, fathers, children, ect. I’m not going to get all preachy or anything, if you are interested or have questions, feel free to email me or check out the LDS website. I expect any and all comments to be respectful. Thanks. Now, let’s get to the good part.
I saw this concept on The Idea Door and fell in love. I love to personalize things. If you’ve been hanging out here long, I’m sure you’ve noticed. My mom is the Relief Society (the women’s organization) activity leader in her ward. She has been looking for ideas for a craft day. She saw the same idea and told me, “Oh, Krista, I WANT one! Make me one, pah-leeeeze.” Just like that. How do you tell your momma “no” when she asks like that?!? Well, it was going to be her birthday gift, but I still have to scan her photos in and haven’t had time to do that that. And her birthday is Wednesday. So… Maybe for Mother’s Day. However, all of our pictures are digital and already on the computer. And I had already made up the templates for my mom’s… So, I just plugged our pictures into the templates.
Please DO NOT take these photos. They are my personal photos of my family and I would appreciate it if you’d respect our privacy. Thank you.
It’s a very basic color scheme, as I will probably end up printing them off of my printer. I looked into getting them professionally printed and for a single copy they wanted more than I am willing to fork out. So, I will probably just scrapbook them. I like that look anyway. I may, reluctantly, hand over the money for my mom’s book. We’ll have to see I guess.
This would be a great Mother’s Day gift. As I mentioned, if you don’t want to use the Family Proclamation, gather some quotations. This would be a nice deviation, as you could make the quotes fit the photos, instead of the other way around. With the words already written, I had to find photos that went along with the quotes. As soon as I get the book put together I will post photos of the whole finished project too. I wanted to throw this into the idea pool as a Mother’s Day gift with enough time for you to pull it off, if you decide to do it. Good Luck!
