This is the first of a new little series I’m calling Let’s Learn. Basically, it’s our summer school activities. Monkey has been doing preschool this past year and loving it. School officially ended last week. It’ll be nice to have a break, but I also realized that Monkey is far too content to be entertained by a screen – and if I’m not careful, I let it happen because I get more crossed off my to-do list when he’s occupied. Bad momma.
I found these fun little Wooden Circle Beads a while back. I had great plans for them around Saint Patrick’s Day (rainbows and all that) and then again around Easter/Spring. I’m still trying to decide just exactly what I want to do with them.
I simply gathered containers of approximately the same colors as the beads. Silicone baking cups, and an IKEA plate and cup were our containers. Then I dumped the beads on the floor and demonstrated to Monkey what he needed to do. He picked it up quick and went right to work. After he had them sorted, he dumped them all back out and did it two more times. Then he wanted to race – boys! – so we split the beads up and had a race to see who could sort them the fastest. All in all, a fun activity. And it bought me about 30 minutes to get an Etsy order done. SCORE!
