I have two wedding days. Actually, one is a sealing day. My family is LDS and two years ago we became an eternal family. It was a long-awaited day and one that was full of every emotion on the face of the planet. I was a new, sleep-deprived mother and was so overwhelmed. What a long day that was. But it was such a great day. One that deserves to be remembered.
I haven’t posted a whole lot of romance ideas since February. We got busy with life, work and summer and our date nights took a bit of a hit, but with this anniversary, it seems like a good time to put a few of my ideas out there.
Here’s a fun little gift. It was inexpensive and, as I’m sure you know by now, I love me some personalization! It’s basically self-explanatory, so I don’t really have a tutorial for it. A wood burning kit, a steady hand and a big bucketful of patience was all it took. Well, and my rice bag at bed time (my back was awfully sore from bending over the counter for so long). Obviously, my husband’s name is in the little blacked out spot… sorry, but privacy is worth something.
I started out by drawing my design lightly with pencil. Then I used the heat iron and burned my design into the wood. I’d never done any wood burning before (unless you count campfires), so I did a little flying by the seat of my pants and on-the-job training. Or experimenting. Whatever. In any case, I really love the way it turned out. I sure hope My Mr. Right does too…
I included two dates on our plaque. Our wedding date and our sealing date.
If you’re interested in purchasing one of these little cuties, you may do so in my Etsy shop. Of course, it will come with your details, not mine. You may also consider this for a father’s, mother’s, or grandparents gift with the names of your family/kids or the grandkids.
