This printable set has two files – one with the pumpkin and one with the faces. Both files are PDF and you’ll need Adobe Acrobat to view them. Don’t worry, if you don’t have it you can get it free. The Jack-O-Lantern Printable Pumpkin is formatted to 8″x10″ and prints nicely on white paper or card stock. I printed the pumpkin on card stock with my inkjet printer and then laminated the page to help it last until Halloween, hopefully longer. With three boys clamoring for their turn, it’s always less disappointing to lower the expectations on how long something will remain in our possession in pristine condition.
There are two faces each on two additional pieces of paper. They overlap a little, but that won’t matter after you cut the pieces out. At this size, they fit nicely on the full page Jack-O-Lantern Printable. I also printed these on card stock, but used our laser printer, mostly because it prints faster. I laminated them as well and then cut them out. If you want more Jack-O-Lantern faces, I used the Punkinhead font. It is free for personal use. You can make more faces for your kids, but you can’t sell anything with the font on it.
You should be able to put this together in about 20 minutes, including print time, laminating and cutting out the face shapes. I have been surprised at all the ways we have been able to use this simple Jack-O-Lantern Printable. I designed and printed it with the intention of using it as a boredom buster for Little J when I needed a few minutes, but it’s become more than that and we’ve even come up with some fun activities for Big J. You’ll have to come back tomorrow to see 5 ways to use the Jack-O-Lantern Printable.
