In this house of boys, we have our share of sports fans. We have balls of every shape, size and sport scattered around our home. My boys are always “shooting baskets” with just about anything that can be tossed: garbage in the trash can, socks in the laundry basket, shoes in the closet. You get the idea.
Cheez-It has some new products out and they are absolutely ideal for game day. We love the Cheez-It CRUNCH’D all on it’s own. It has fantastic flavor and the texture is great. Cheez-It Grooves have become one of our go-to dip crackers. Those grooves are perfect for piling dip on there and the flavor is phenomenal. These are awesome game day snack additions (and I may or may not have them stocked in my cupboards for quick snacks any day too). Our favorite snack is a Bacon Ranch Dip with the Cheez-It Grooves in Sharp White Cheddar.
BIG GAME SNACKS:
BACON RANCH DIP
WITH CHEEZ-IT GROOVES
SHARP WHITE CHEDDAR
Serves: Approx 6-8 servings
- Cheez-It Grooves in Sharp White Cheddar (you can use any flavor, but this is our favorite)
- 1 Ranch Dip Powdered Mix
- 1 16 oz tub Sour Cream
- 1 bunch Green Onions
- 2-3 oz Real Bacon Bits
- Open and pour the ranch dip powder into the sour cream container. Mix thoroughly.
- Pour in the bacon bits. You can use less, but really, why would you want to?! Feel free to use more. I'll totally understand.
- Mix the dip well until the bacon bits are evenly distributed through out.
- Slice up the green onions and garnish the top of the dip with them and a few more bacon bits.
- Transfer dip to a bowl (if desired). Arrange the Cheez-It Grooves on a plate.
- Store in the fridge until ready to serve.
One other thing my boys do really well is eat. Those kids can put it away. So, when it comes time for basketball and the big game, our snacks are almost as important as the score. So, I went to Wal-Mart to stock up on some yummy snacks and, especially, some Cheez-It crackers. With 100% cheese in every cracker, you can’t beat the taste.
I have since seen the CRUNCH’D Cheez-Its on a large pallet display as well as an endcap display, so check those places. It’s a brand-new product so it should be front and center. The Cheez-It Grooves are with the other Cheez-It brand chips in the chip aisle. There are other flavors to choose from too!
Now, let’s face it, as much as my boys love sports and balls, their attention spans are not terribly impressive. Definitely not the length of an entire game. So, I created them a little game of their own. And, bonus, it all fits inside a box of Cheez-It crackers if you want to keep it there. We actually prefer to play with the CRUNCH’D crackers, which come in a bag, but the game board and the dice will fit in a Cheez-It box with minimal folding. You just have to deconstruct the dice. And, because you can’t go wrong with tic-tac-toe – especially when the game pieces are edible, I included a board on the page with the dice too. Two games for the price of one. Score! You can create your own game pieces by breaking the crackers to make different shapes.
You can see the files below and if you want to get your own Game Day printable board game, just click the images below and you’ll be taken to the download link. Download, save the file to your computer and then print it off. You’ll need a small piece of tape or a glue stick to put the dice together after you cut it out, just a heads up on that. Use crackers as your game pieces. Winner gets to eat them all? GO TEAM! And get your big game snacks for more than just game day.
